Upper Virginia is Communist, Says Joe McCain

So if Obama is the Democratic Reagan then is Joe McCain the Republican Billy Carter? I'm just asking, because these metaphors are important.

he'll be napping

From the AP:
John McCain's election night watch party might be missing John McCain. Instead of appearing before a throng of supporters at the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix on the evening of Nov. 4, the Republican presidential nominee plans to deliver postelection remarks to a small group of reporters and guests on the hotel's lawn.

Aides said Thursday that the arrangement was due to space limitations and that McCain might drop by the election watch party at some other point...

Terror on the 'Tube

Defense to McCain's association with felon Keating: "cleared of all charges." But the ad is about ASSOCIATION, not charges, and MCCAIN ASSOCIATED WITH KEATING for years. Also, his first marriage was to a swimsuit model who was disfigured in an auto accident while he was a POW: he WAS NOT SEPARATED when he cheated on her, and married Cindy THE DAY AFTER RECEIVING HIS DIVORCE. And, yes, it IS my business to judge the honor and character of someone who wants my vote for president.

McCain is proving true all the derogitory things that have been said of him. He is a disgrace to all Americans.

If you dislike "socialism" please feel free to stay off the roads, a perfect example of a socialized good. I'm serious, too. If you are against socialism, you may not drive without being a total hypocrite. "Socialism" is just a vacuous word, a scary conservative talking point. Get a brain please.

B. HUSSEIN OBAMA COULD TURN NUCLEAR WEAPONS ON THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES, MUCH LIKE SADDAM HUSSEIN TURNED WEAPONS ON HIS OWN PEOPLE...

B. Hussein Obama opposed the Iraq War and stopping Saddam Hussein from commiting mass genocide. B. Hussein Obama may just well have worse planned for the American people.

If this is all you guys have left then Obama already won.

And by the way, McCain has worked with "terrorists". Read up on his ties with The U.S. Council for World Freedom. I'm not saying McCain is a terrorist but it just shows that this guilt by association thing is really stupid.

ACORN THAT'S ALL I HAVE TO SAY.

Ask Palin and her stud about how much the Alaska Independence Party loves America.

Ask McCain about Keating and cheating on his first wife.

And ask Cindy about illegal narcotics and what the prospect of jail-time felt like.

Not that any of those things "matter" to the issues of the day, but they speak volumes about their judgement. Waa waaaaah.

mccain does nothing when supporter yells "terrorist"

It started in a no-cameras-allowed fundraiser then moved public with Sarah Palin's California speech and now it's spread like herpes to McCain himself. "Who is the real Barack Obama?" Where did he come from? He is "palling around with terrorists." The implication is so obvious that he is part of an Al Qaeda sleeper cell that his audience is now yelling out "terrorist" at his rallies. Typical fascistic demagoguery has to turn attack into defense and standing up for the truth into a "barrage of insults." This is an outrage:

In case you thought Gentle John just didn't hear the terrorist comment, check out his face and then notice him doing NOTHING about it. And, of course, look back at this charming video:

they taught you too well, mac kane

From this week's issue of Rolling Stone called "Make-Believe Maverick:
...Parts of his memoir recounting his days in Hanoi read like a bad Ian Fleming novel, with his Vietnamese captors cast as nefarious Bond villains. On the Fourth of July 1968, when he rejected the offer of early release, an officer nicknamed "Cat" got so mad, according to McCain, that he snapped a pen he was holding, splattering ink across the room.

"They taught you too well, Mac Kane," Cat snarled, kicking over a chair. "They taught you too well..."

GRUMPY MCCAIN EMERGES IN IOWA...

With recent polls showing John McCain struggling in Iowa -- a state Bush won four years ago -- the Republican nominee swung through the Hawkeye State yesterday, including a lengthy chat with the Des Moines Register, which endorsed McCain before January's Iowa caucuses.

It didn't go well.

The videos of the discussion between McCain and the editors are worth watching, because the transcripts alone don't convey just how angry and sarcastic McCain became when challenged. I wouldn't go so far as to say McCain completely lost his cool, but we did get a glimpse of Angry McCain, and his temper led to some odd responses. The Register's editors, for example, noted that McCain has taxpayer-backed health care throughout his life. The senator responded, with a sharp tone:

"You know that's an interesting statement, isn't it? And I have never been an astronaut, but I think I know the challenges of space. And I have never done a lot of things in my life that I think I am familiar with."

I have no idea what this means given the context of the question.

The Register's editors also noted some of the obviously dishonest ads McCain has run, including the ridiculous and disgusting spot accusing Obama of supporting sex-ed for kindergarteners.

"...I have always had 100 percent, absolute truth and that's been my life of putting my country first. And I'll match that record against anyone's. And I'm proud of it. And an assertion that I've ever done otherwise, I take strong exception to."

McCain has lied a lot this year, but he really doesn't like it when people bring it up.

McCain was probably most annoyed with the editors asked about Sarah Palin's readiness for national office. "[W]ith due respect, I strongly disagree with your premise that she doesn't have experience and knowledge and background," McCain said, visibly annoyed "I fundamentally disagree and I'm proud of her record." Sensing he may be pushing the anger envelope a bit, McCain started to launch into another tirade before saying, "I'll stop there."

The videos are all online. One of them is on our blog.
